Ashe Memorial Hospital Foundation is having its third annual Gala at The Club, located at Jefferson Landing on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.
The formal occasion is black-tie optional and dinner will be provided along with hors d’oeuvres. The event includes an open bar and dancing.
A live band, U.B.U., will be in attendance to carry the tune of the evening and valet parking will be provided.
Proceeds from the Gala will go toward the Foundation’s Annual Campaign project and will benefit Mountain Hearts with enhancements, including a treadmill, external defibrillator, and telemetry monitoring system. A Compliance Service Area renovation, classroom renovations and the purchase of an operating room autoclave.
Among the numerous festivities of the evening, the silent and live auctions are just a couple of the headlining events of the evening as a wide assortment of items and coveted prizes will be auctioned off. A North Carolina Tar Heels basketball, autographed by Coach Roy Williams, will be one of the higher sought after prizes along with Appalachian football tickets for the current season.
In the live auction, NASCAR fans will have the opportunity to bid on an autographed racing helmet signed by champion driver Jimmie Johnson. Two rocking chairs donated by Lowe’s Hardware and a year’s membership at the exclusive Jefferson Landing Golf Course are also being auctioned off that evening.
Bob Caldwell Photography will also be on hand to take portraits at the Gala and these pictures may be obtained the night of the Gala as he will develop them on site. A 5x7 portrait will cost only $20 and guests are encouraged to participate in the auction for a chance to bid on a gift certificate from Caldwell Photography for a family portrait.
The event is open to the public. Guests should call 336-846-0712 for tickets or additional information.
