The Ashe County Board of Education partnered with the North Carolina Community Foundation to create a designated endowment to support educational endeavors beyond those funded by tax dollars.

The Education Endowment Fund provides grants that enrich learning and educational opportunities over and above the resources provided by local, state and federal funding. Contributions make a direct impact by providing financial support for Ashe County students, according to the Ashe County Board of Education.

Since 2002, nearly $42,000 has been awarded to local teachers in the form of grants. This year alone, nine Ashe County teachers were awarded $6,660, out of 33 applications.

The Ashe County Schools Endowment Board and the Ashe County Board of Education extend a sincere “thank you” to all participants and sponsors.
