The local economy plans to get a boost from Tractor Supply Co. and Mo’s Boots, which are set to join Ashe County’s business community very soon.
Rob Hoskins, media relations at Tractor Supply Co., says, “The area (Jefferson) was attractive due to the part-time and hobby farmers, and horse owners in the area.”
Hoskins also said the Jefferson Tractor Supply Co. will employ 12-17 full and part-time employees. As of Wednesday, there is no information available concerning hiring for positions at Tractor Supply Co.
The location in Jefferson will have 31,440 square ft. of lawn and garden equipment and animal care products.
According to Hoskins, “The soft opening is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 3 with a grand opening slated for Nov. 10.”
Tractor Supply Co. isn’t the only new business in town, as Mo’s Boots is planning to open this week in the building formerly occupied by McNeill’s Department Store.
Mo’s Boots will be opened by Kelly Hardy, who is looking to expand on the success of his Mo’s Boots location in Boone.
The Mo’s Boots in West Jefferson will offer outdoor gear, featuring brands like Carhart, Red Wing Shoes, Rocky and Tru Spec.
No information has been released concerning employment opportunities at Mo’s Boots.
