James Lee Pollard
James Lee Pollard of Dog Creek Road, Crumpler, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. He was 78.
He was born Aug. 6, 1934 in Ashe County to James William and Dorothy Huffman Pollard. He was a member of Scottville Baptist Church in Laurel Springs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Caldwell and Lena Stamper.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Royal Pollard of the home; three sons, Bobby Lee Pollard and wife, Joeann, of Jefferson, Robert Dale Pollard and wife, Kathy, of Sparta, Phillip Dean Pollard and wife, Judy, of Lansing; two sisters, Lucille Waller of Greensboro, Geraldine Farmer and husband, Roger, of Winston Salem; four brothers, Charles Pollard and wife, Sonya, of West Jefferson, Harold Pollard and wife, Geraline, of Crumpler, Bill Pollard and wife, Sandy, of Winston Salem, Larry Pollard and wife, Cathy, of Valdese; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Scottville Baptist Church with the Rev, Reeves Jones officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at Scottville Baptist Church from 2-3 p.m.Tuesday prior to the service.
