Golfers take second at Cedar Brook

Elkin won its third straight golf match, finishing with a team score of 133 to take the top spot.


Ashe County finished in second place with a team total of 161. Alleghany finished third (172) followed by Forbush (177) and Wilkes Central (179).


Individually, Elkin golfers Mary Francis Hall and Annika Winebarger swept the top two finishing spots again. Hall shot 39 while Winebarger finished just two shots behind with a score of 41. Third place went to Katie Tally of Alleghany, followed by Lady Husky golfers Olivia Barr in fourth (52) and Taylor Price (53) in fifth.


Katie Girtman shot a 56 for Ashe. Madison Little finished with a final score of 57 and Madison Ball also had a solid round, shooting 59.


The ladies will be back on the links this Wednesday at Silo Run Golf Course in Boonville.
