Ashe took down Elkin rather easily on Tuesday night, winning all but three matches on the way to a 60-15 win.
The Huskies got a total of five forfeit victories during the match. Andrew Tedder (106), Carter Calhoun (120), Michael Elliott (152), Lucas Miller (170) and William Miller (182) all won forfeits at their respective weight classes.
Jacob Weaver pinned Levi Collins in 48 seconds in the battle of 113-pounders to give Ashe another win.
Elkin got wins at 126 and 132 pounds. Said Javier beat Bodi Miller by a 9-8 decision and Jeremy Pierce earned a forfeit victory.
In the 138-pound division, Matthew Hamilton pinned Seth Creed with just three seconds remaining in the first period. At 145 pounds, Chase Conner earned a hard-fought 6-5 d decision victory over Aldair Garcia.
The 160-pound match went Elkin’s way when Zane Millsaps pinned Joshua Hamilton at the 5:36 mark of the match.
The remaining three matches all went in favor of the Huskies. Justin Scarborough pinned fellow 195-pounder Walker Longworth at 4:43. In the 220-pound match, Mitchell Brown earned a 13-8 decision win over Austin Joines, and Jake Woods pinned Tyler Stoltzfus in 25 seconds to win the 285-pound match.
As a team, the Huskies are now 16-11 overall.
Ashe wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday night with a match at Alleghany, and will now turn its attention towards the Mountain Valley Conference Tournament at West Wilkes on Saturday.
