Golf season starts Sept. 3

Ashe County’s women’s golf team will have a few extra weeks to prepare for the season with the first match taking place on Sept. 3 at Boone Golf Club.


As of right now, Ashe will play in six total matches this season, which include the non-conference match in Boone, four conference matches and the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Tournament.


Conference matches begin on Sept. 18 at High Meadows Country Club, hosted by Alleghany.


One week later, all MVAC teams travel to Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin for the second MVAC match.


Ashe will host the third match at Mountain Aire on Oct. 2 before ending the regular season at Oakwoods Country Club in Wilkesboro on Oct. 9


All MVAC teams will return to High Meadows on Oct. 16 for the MVAC Championship Tournament.


2A Regionals begin on Oct. 21 and the 2A State Championship Tournament begins one week later, taking place on Oct. 28-29.
