Ashe split a pair of matches last week that included a win that capped off the season sweep over Elkin.
The Lady Huskies opened the week with a loss at home to Alleghany. After a close game one that ended with a 25-20 score, Alleghany handled Ashe in the final two games by scores of 25-10 and 25-8.
Senior Elaina Bassett had four kills to lead Ashe. Sloan Elliott added three, Abby Lopp had two and Paige Spell added one.
Ashe had a good match serving, connecting on 40 of 44 serves that included three aces from Sierra Sawyer.
Freshman Lyndsi Aldridge recorded nine digs, Kelsey Hayes added five and Sawyer had four. Zoe Richardson led Ashe with nine assists.
On Thursday, the Lady Huskies pulled off a much-needed 3-0 win over Elkin.
Ashe took game one, 25-21, and then followed that up with a 25-22 win in game two and a 25-18 match-clinching win in game three.
Spell and Bassett scored seven kills. Elliott had four, Lopp added four, Richardson had three and Kendall McDaniel added three.
The Lady Huskies had a whopping 16 aces in three games. Hayes had six of those, Sawyer had four, Elliott had three, Bassett added two and Richardson had the final ace. Richardson also added a game-high 25 assists.
Ashe is 2-11 overall and 2-7 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.
Up next, the volleyball team heads to Starmount on Tuesday.
