A lineup of live local music is on tap this weekend in Lansing Creeper Trail Park as the The Lansing Volunteer Fire Department’s “Music in the Park” series continues.

The Crooked Road Ramblers of Galax take the stage 6:30 p.m. Saturday for an evening of old-time string band music. “Steeped in the traditional music of the Blue Ridge,” the six-piece band recorded a new CD release this year, “Mule to Ride.”

The Harris Brothers, Reggie and Ryan of Lenoir, return to Lansing 3 p.m. Sunday, bringing their vast repertoire of traditional American music, which they describe as “stripped down, intense, and real, with no gimmicks.”

A local favorite, the brothers were billed for the second day of Ola Belle Reed Festival VIII in August, which was cancelled due to flash flooding.

Admission for both shows is free, but donations are appreciated. The Lansing VFD will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks.
