Ashe Central to hold football reunion

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Ashe Central High School Football Team from 1973 will hold a 40-year reunion in the school cafeteria at Family Central from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.


This team holds the distinction of being the first football team in the history of Ashe Central High School to win a conference championship in football. This team went undefeated in conference play in 1973 and ended the season with a record of 9-1.


The core of this football team also holds the distinction of having the best three-year record in the history of the school with records of 8-2 in 1971, 7-3 in 1972 and 9-1 in 1973.


Former players, coaches, cheerleaders, family members and supporters of Ashe Central Football during these years are invited to attend this celebration.
