A truck driving west on N.C. 88, outside of Laurel Springs, hit an embankment and flipped on its top, Friday afternoon.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of N.C. 88 and Roe Hunt Road shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The GMC truck, belonging to Jefferson Rent-All, was heading west on N.C. 88, towards Jefferson, when it hit an embankment and flipped over, eventually coming to a rest on its top in the middle of the road.
Both lanes of N.C. 88 were closed to traffic for over an hour.
The driver was treated on the scene for minor injuries. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
Responding units were the N.C. Highway Patrol and Glendale Springs Fire Department.
A member of the Laurel Springs Volunteer Fire Department happened to be on the scene at the time of the accident.
