Men’s basketball head coach Jim Fox added three new incoming players to the Appalachian State team. The signings were announced on May 23

“I am excited to add these players to our roster,” said Fox in a press release. “They represent a solid foundation for which to build on both on the court and in the classroom. They provide toughness, versatility and skill to our roster. They have been tested at some of the best high schools and prep schools in the country and I am excited to get them here and have them begin working on contributing to the rebuilding of App State basketball.”

All three signees will come from outside of the state and one outside of the country.

Jake Babic, a 6-5 guard from Ontario, Canada, played this past season at The Kiski School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania. Babic averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game. Babic lettered in four sports during his high school career. Other than basketball, Babic played volleyball, soccer and badminton.

A pair of post players will also be joining the Mountaineers as part of this recruiting class.

Griffin Kinney, a 6-8 forward from Ohio played most recently at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. Kinney averaged 15 points and six boards per game and has proven to be able to score inside but also step out and make the outside shot. Kinney excelled at lacrosse in high school, leading Hayes High School to a state title before deciding to focus on basketball at Fork Union.

Hammond, Indiana native Milos Kostic, another 6-8 forward, is the final member of this signing class. Kostic played at Bishop Noll High School before finishing his career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Kostic scored 16 PPG and grabbed seven rebounds per contest and helped lead the IMG Academy squad to a 24-2 record.
