LifeStore Financial Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Charles W. Jones to the company’s Board of Directors.
Jones was appointed to the board to fill the seat vacated by Kenneth R. Greene who retired in 2011 after serving on the board for 23 years.
Jones had been a member of LifeStore’s Ashe County Advisory Board prior to becoming a director.
“We are very excited to have Charles join our board,” commented Robert Washburn, President and CEO. “We are fortunate to have Charles. He grew up here and returned to operate his practice and be a part of the community. His experiences will be an asset to our board and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
Jones is a fourth generation general surgeon practicing in Ashe County. He received his undergraduate degree from UNC — Chapel Hill and his doctorate from Wake Forest Baptist Medical School. After completing his surgical training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, he returned to Ashe County and established his practice in Jefferson in 1997.
“I am looking forward to serving on this board,” Jones said. “It’s important to have a local bank to take care of local needs. A prime example is how LifeStore reached out to inform the community on the Affordable Care Act.”
Jones is a member of the Ashe Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
“I am excited about being able to serve on this board and give back to the community,” Jones said.
Jones and his wife Debbie live in Jefferson. They have three sons: Brandon is a senior and Connor is a freshman at Ashe County High School. Hunter is a sixth grader at Mountain View Elementary.
