A weekend of live music featuring some of the best area musicians and an internationally renowned Americana trio hits Todd this weekend.
It all begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19, when Eric Ellis and the Caldwell Line perform at Cook Memorial Park.
Ellis’s performance is a part of the Todd Community Preservation Organization’s (TCPO) Summer Music Series.
Admission is free of charge and attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chair to enjoy some good old bluegrass music. Refreshments and food will be available with all proceeds going to the TCPO.
The music will continue on Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m., when Wayne Henderson and Friends and Charles Welch warm-up the stage for The Kruger Brothers at Cook Memorial Park.
The Kruger Brothers consist of Swiss brothers Uwe (guitar, lead vocals) and Jens (banjo, harmony vocals) Kruger and Joel Landsberg (bass, harmony vocals).
The trio are Merlefest regulars, have performed on Late Night with David Letterman and won multiple awards for their innovative take on Americana folk music.
Tickets for The Kruger Brothers with Wayne Henderson and Friends and Charles Welch are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased online at toddnc.org.
