Billy McGuigan and his brothers, Matthew and Ryan, are Air Force brats; the kind that moved around to various installations and lived in base housing. When their dad was home from duty, he entertained the boys with his guitar – and his love of the Beatles. What this upbringing did for the McGuigan brothers was to instill a love of the songs that take them back to those days of playing and singing with their dad.
Besides Billy, Matthew and Ryan McGuigan the band includes Jay Hanson, Rich Miller and Tara Vaughan. There are no Beatles wigs and no accents but the all the band members had to memorize and be able to play at a second’s notice all 200-plus songs in the Beatles anthology. The show incorporates a 1960s-style set and a modern day lighting scheme to create theatrical concert feel.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $5 for students and are available at the Ashe Arts Center or by phone. For information or tickets call 336-846-2787.
