Darlene Bailey, a blood collector for the Red Cross, is taking a blood donation from Jack Watson of West Jefferson. The Red Cross does its blood drive the third Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Jefferson. The drive works to collect at least 40 pints each drive. One pint can save up to three lives.
