The Ashe County Farm Bureau (ACFB) was named the winner of the 2013 County of Excellence Award, for Division 3.
ACFB was judged as North Carolina Farm Bureau’s most effective branch in its membership class for implementing programs, services and actives that build active county Farm Bureaus and fulfill the mission of the organization.
The award ceremony took place Dec. 8-10 during the North Carolina Farm Bureau (NCFB) 78th Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons.
“This award is presented to the county that executed the best all-around effort for the year, and Ashe County Farm Bureau represented the best of what Farm Bureau stands for and strives to achieve through its grassroots structure,” said Larry Wooten, president of NCFB.
County Farm Bureaus were evaluated on the development of public relations programs and enhanced communications with county leadership, legislative and policy development efforts, county board community service, leadership development and other nonprofit activities.
ACFB participated in many activities, including the sponsorship of county agricultural and educational activities, attendance at state conferences and events, and sponsorship of county safety programs, that throughout the year, promoted the mission of Farm Bureau.
