The Ashe County Chamber of Commerce will hold the 2014 Small Business of the Year Award luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18 in Hensley Hall at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Each year, the Chamber solicits nominations for small businesses considered worthy of recognition. The nominees must have been in operation for at least 3 years, have fewer than 25 full-time employees and provide a quality product.
These businesses must also contribute to community projects, programs or other initiatives demonstrating their desire to enhance the quality of life in Ashe County. The member Services Committee of the Chamber chooses the winner representing these values from the nominated businesses.
The winner is announced in front of their peers at the luncheon. The 2013 winner, Keith Woodie of Antiques on Main, will present the 2014 Small Business of the Year to the attendees.
The luncheon is sponsored by Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation. This year’s featured speaker will be Doug Johnson, the CEO of Blue Ridge Electric. In addition, the 2014 publication of the Chamber Visitor Guide will also be unveiled during the luncheon.
Ashe County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cabot Hamilton said the Chamber will be taking reservations through Friday, March 14.
The cost is $15 per person. To make a reservation, please call Kathleen George at the Chamber at 336-846-9550 or email email@example.com.
