On Thursday, July 3, Ashe Services for Aging celebrated the July 4th holiday with music, cake and honoring the veterans of Ashe County.

The event kicked off at noon with renditions of “America the Beautiful” and “Star Spangled Banner” on the piano. Next, the flag was brought to the center of the Senior Center’s dining area where volunteers led the room in singing the national anthem.

Once completed, a cake made by volunteers Jenifer Baker and Ronnie Miller was presented to the room, and Terry Kimmer held the July 4 themed contests.

The Senior Center was closed for the July 4 holiday.
