The following are collision reports posted by the N.C. Highway Patrol in Ashe County and are considered public record.
A single-vehicle accident occurred at 10:41 p.m. on Highway 221. According to the narrative, Jeremy Eggert of Lansing was traveling south when his vehicle ran off the road to the right, came back on the road, crossed the centerline and overturned.
Eggert’s 2006 GMC had an estimated $3,000 in damage and was rendered not driveable. Eggert was transferred to Ashe Memorial Hospital. He was also cited for driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and careless and reckless driving.
A single-vehicle accident occurred at 7:35 pm. on Calloway Gap Road in West Jefferson. According to the narrative, a vehicle driven by Travis Hamilton of West Jefferson was traveling south when the car crossed the centerline, ran off the road to the left and struck an embankment. The vehicle continued along the embankment before overturning into the roadway.
An estimated $4,000 in damages occurred to the 2004 Honda and the vehicle was considered not driveable.
According to the report, a citation is pending against Hamilton.
A single-vehicle accident occurred at 11:13 a.m. on Old Highway 16 in Jefferson. According to the narrative, Jonathan Eldreth of Jefferson was traveling south when he lost control of his 2006 Dodge in a curve, crossed the center line and traveled off the left shoulder and overturned down an embankment.
Eldreth’s vehicle sustained an estimated $8,000 in damage and was rendered not driveable.
He was cited for driving while intoxicated.
An animal collision took place at 6:30 a.m. on Highway 194. According to the narrative, Shana Copeland of Lansing was traveling south when a deer entered the roadway and was hit in the center of the road. The vehicle was moved from the area of impact before the investigating officer arrived. The 2001 Honda suffered approximately $2,000 in damages and was considered driveable.
No citations were issued.
