Ashe County picked up its second win of the young season with a 4-0 triumph over the visiting Hibriten Panthers.
Cesar Ruiz notched his first goal of the contest in the ninth minute with a left-footed shot by the Panther keeper.
Ruiz followed that up with his second goal in the 22nd minute, a shot similar to the first one as he charged on from the left side once again and found the back of the net.
The Huskies kept the offensive pressure on and netted another goal just two minutes later. Senior captain Alexis Ramos perfectly timed his header shot past the goaltender off of a nice corner kick.
In the 33rd minute, Ashe got its fourth and final goal of the contest with a quick strike from Victor Melo to take a 4-0 halftime lead.
Hibriten was never able to get any offensive momentum generated through the second half.
Ashe nearly tallied a fifth goal in the 69th minute when Melo got into the penalty box on a breakaway but saw his shot sail just to the right of the goal.
The Huskies are now 2-1 on the season and will get ready for another non-conference matchup on Tuesday at home against Alexander Central.
