Ashe hosted Elkin last week as a final preparation for the start of conference matches where each team will have players competing weekly.


Elkin finished with a team score of 125 while Ashe finished with 145.


Annika Winebarger and Mary Frances Hall had the two top scores of the day, shooting 33 and 38.


Ashe’s Olivia Barr was third with a personal score of 43 and teammate Sarah Hardin was fourth with a score of 47. Elkin golfer Kaley Cornelison (54) rounded out the top five scorers.


Other Lady Husky scores were Makensie Shatley (55), Alexis Howell (60) and Savannah Brooks (61).


Head Coach Laura Foster wanted to extend a special thanks to Phillip Shepherd and everyone at Mountain Aire for all they do for the ACHS golf program.


The Lady Huskies will return to the links on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at High Meadows Golf Course in Roaring Gap for the first conference match of the season.
