The Lady Husky volleyball team suffered a pair of home losses last week against North Wilkes on Tuesday and West Wilkes on Thursday.


North came away with the 3-0 victory with game scores of 25-17 25-22 and 25-16.


Paige Spell led Ashe with three kills on nine attempts. Abby Lopp had two kills on six attempts while Linsey Aldridge and Sloan Elliott each added a kill.


Elaina Bassett blocked three shots and the team tallied eight points on her serves.


Aldridge recorded nine digs and Kelsey Hayes chipped in five digs on seven attempts. Zoe Richardson continues to lead in the assist category. The senior had seven against the Lady Vikings.


On Thursday, Ashe got off to a quick start against West, but the Blackhawks rallied to win the final three sets. Ashe scored a 25-16 victory in the first before falling in the next three by scores of 25-10, 25-22 and 25-16.


Elliott and Bassett had four kills and Kendall McDaniel recorded three. McDaniel also had a big game blocking shots at the net with four blocks in two sets played.


Aldridge was all over the court with 19 digs. Cierra Sawyer had eight, Spell had six and Richardson had six. Richardson chipped in 12 assists and Alexis Parks tallied four assists.


The Lady Huskies are 1-10 overall and 1-6 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.
