‘Dig Pink’ night raises $130

It was a great night for the Lady Husky volleyball team last Thursday. Not only did they beat rival Wilkes Central, but the team also raised $130 as part of the “Dig Pink” volleyball night at ACHS.
Players wore their pink uniforms and fans took part in the event wearing their favorite pink outfits.
Ashe won a thrilling match, 3-2 to move into a tie with the Eagles in the standings.
Elaina Bassett and Sloan Elliott led the Lady Huskies with 12 kills each. Abby Lopp added 10 and Paige Spell had nine.
Ashe recorded 15 aces on serves in the contest. Kelsey Hayes had six, freshman Lynsey Aldridge had four, Cierra Sawyer had three and Elliott added two. Aldridge finished with a team-high 28 digs and Zoe Richardson had 46 assists.
This week, Ashe hosted East Wilkes but lost by a 3-0 score.
Bassett led Ashe with eight kills, Elliott had four and Lopp had four.
The Lady Huskies had seven aces in this match. Hayes and Elliott had two, Aldridge, Sawyer and Richardson each had one. Richardson added 18 assists as well.
Ashe is 3-13 overall and 3-9 in the conference.
