Avery County capped off an impressive season sweep over the Huskies with a convincing 85-36 win.


The Vikings were red-hot from the field, shooting 62-percent and getting four scorers in double figures.


Luke Wotell had a game-high 15 points. Tre Jackson scored 14, Jacob Waldrop had 13 and Dylan Bauer scored 11.


For Ashe, senior Devan Sheets was the high man with 11 points on 5-7 shooting. Bradley Lucas finished with nine points and two assists. Cullen Ashley added seven points and a team-high six rebounds.


Corbin Winebarger returned to the court after missing all season due to injury and scored five points. Alex Spencer was the final Ashe scorer with four points.


The Huskies fell to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in games away from Ashe County.


Avery is 7-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 at home.


The Huskies will see the court this weekend in the annual Colvard Oil Holiday Classic at the high school.
