Area golfers all know the arrival of spring means it’s time for the Carl and Pearl Hagel Memorial Golf Tournament at Mountain Aire Golf Club.
This year’s event, the 19th annual tournament, is scheduled for Saturday, April 26. All proceeds will go to directly benefit the Ashe County Free Medical Clinic.
The format is captain’s choice with two shotgun starts scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A $75 entry fee covers green and cart fees plus a fabulous meal. Mulligans can also be purchased. Finally, there’s an opportunity to win a one year free membership at Mountain Aire Golf Club and a new car.
Businesses and individuals can also support the clinic even if not golfing. Tournament sponsorships are available for $750 and team sponsorships are $300. In addition, hole sponsorships are only $100, and all sponsors will receive prominent recognition and advertising on the Clinic’s web site.
The Free Medical Clinic serves the needs of the county’s medically uninsured and is a non-profit, volunteer organization solely supported through grants and private donations. The clinic can provide $7 worth of services to its patients for every $1 donated. For more information on the golf tournament or the clinic, call (336) 846-4649.
