Ashe County High School Band Boosters President Tamara Shepherd (left) and ACHS Band Director Carrie Mitchell (center), accept a check for $10,000 from Ashe County Board of Education Member Terry Williams toward the purchase of new marching band uniforms.

Williams presented the check at the ACHS Band Boosters monthly meeting on April 1. The ACHS Band Boosters raised $10,000 and the Board of Education matched that amount.

The current band uniforms are 15 years old and literally falling apart.

Look for the Marching Huskies to be styling new uniforms at the first ACHS varsity football game this fall.
