During the month of October, employees at Leviton – West Jefferson Plant collected 163 pounds of food along with money. The donations were presented to Ashe Outreach for the Backpack Program.

Ashe Outreach would like for everyone to know that one in five children in Ashe County are in danger of leaving school on Friday to find little or no food at home. Donations fill backpacks with food, so 300 plus children eat over the weekend and return to school Monday morning better nourished and ready to learn.
