The Lady Husky soccer team kept its top spot in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference with a 6-1 win at home over East Wilkes.
Candi Sanchez started the scoring 15 minutes into the game with a breakaway goal.
In the 28th minute, Natalie Harless placed a beautiful corner kick perfectly into the far corner of the goal over the Cardinal keeper for the second goal of the contest.
Sanchez netted her second goal of the second half with six minutes left to play until the halftime stoppage.
East Wilkes started the first half with a goal in the 48th minute to cut its deficit to just two goals.
Ashe answered in a hurry, getting a goal from Bekah Bowers in the 55th minute and a strike from Melissa Ramos in the 61st minute that found the back of the net.
Ramos netted the final goal of the game in the 68th minute to cap off the victory on Senior Night.
Ashe is now 9-6-1 overall and 8-1 in conference play with a pair of critical MVAC matches on the horizon to determine the conference champ.
The ladies are scheduled to open up this week at Elkin with both teams being tied for the top spot in the conference. Ashe will end the week at West Wilkes against the 11-5 Blackhawks.
Earlier in the year, Ashe lost to Elkin, 1-0, and had to rally from behind to beat the Blackhawks at ACHS.
