Ashe County High School Head Coach Scott Grubb invites the young basketball players in the county to come out to the annual Next Level Hoops Camp next week.
The opening day of camp will be June 16 and the final day will be June 18.
Camp is broken up into two separate groups by age. The morning session will take place from 9 a.m. until noon and will feature boys that are rising third graders through rising sixth graders. The afternoon session will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. for seventh graders through 10th graders.
The cost for the camp is $50 and that will include a camp t-shirt.
The major emphasis from the Next Level Hoops Camp will be on shooting. Coach Grubb and the rest of the camp staff expect that each player will shoot at least 200 shots per day while also working on proper shooting form.
Campers will get the chance to build and improve on the basic fundamentals of basketball through competitions, skill development and one-on-one instruction from the camp staff.
There will be several competitions going on, including the obstacle course, hot shot, free throw competitions and tournament-style games.
Awards and trophies will be handed out on the final day of camp.
