The 13th annual Girls Got Game Basketball Camp brought in some of the most talented young ladies in the county for a three-day camp at Ashe County High School.

“We had a great turnout of girls. The girls worked hard, learned a lot and had some fun,” said Ashe County Head Coach Laura Foster.

Girls from first through eighth grade worked on their basketball skills and took part in numerous competitions.

Competition results:

First grade

Dribbling champion: Ellie Cable

Runner-up: Ava Roten

Second grade

Dribbling champion: Hannah Osborne

Runner up: Alley Greer

Third/fourth grade

X-out layup drill champion: Kirklyn Hudler

Runner-up: Morgan Phipps

Free throw champion: Paige Overcash

Runner-up: Kirklyn Hudler

Fifth/sixth grade

Hot shot champion: Katie Woods

Runner-up: Audrey Craven

Free throw champion: Audrey Craven

Runner-up: Emma Holman

One-on-one champion: Audrey Craven

Runner-up: Paige Brooks

Seventh/eighth grade

Hot shot champion: Madison Warner

Runner-up: Abby Sullivan

Free throw champion: Marley Eller

Runner-up: Caroline Keith and Sam Woods

One-on-one champion: Madison Warner

Runner-up: Abby Sullivan

“I would like to thank my coaching staff, current and former players for their hard work and helping to make Girls Got Game Basketball Camp a great success,” said Foster.
