The 4th Annual Paul Jones Memorial Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, November 17, at the Calvary Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Building in Glendale Springs, NC. A retired UPS driver for Ashe, Wilkes, and Allegany counties, Paul Jones was a life-long blood donor giving more than 120 units. Blood is especially needed at this crucial time due to the shortage brought on by Hurricane Sandy. All donors are automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win Delta Air Lines tickets. The hours for the event are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. The church fellowship building is located at 3019 Old Wilkesboro Rd., just across from the Raccoon Holler Campground.
