Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other in order to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, organization or institution; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help others to recover from alcoholism. The Ashe Unity Group of A.A. meets seven days per week at West Jefferson United Methodist Church in room 113. Entrance is though the side door facing the parking lot. Closed meetings, for alcoholics and those who feel they may have a drinking problem, are held on Saturdays at noon, Sundays at 4:00 pm, Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30 pm. Open meetings, for alcoholics and anyone who is interested in learning more about the A. A. program of recovery, meet on Wednesdays at noon, and Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 pm.
