New River Cleanup as part of NC Big Sweep will take place Saturday, Sept. 8 in Ashe County. Volunteers will be assigned to outfitters and picking up trash by canoe. Meet at designated outfitters at 9 a.m. with any snacks or drinks you might need. Canoes, paddles, life vests, trash bags, and gloves provided. Wear clothes appropriate for the river and closed toe shoes.
