Baseball camp one week away

The annual Diamond Stars Baseball Camp will get underway June 26 at Ashe County High School with varsity coach Ronnie Pruitt in charge of the three-day camp.

Campers in attendance will learn the basic fundamentals of baseball in all aspects of the game including fielding, hitting, base running, pitching and in-game situations.

Rising fourth graders through rising ninth graders are eligible to attend the Diamond Stars Camp.

The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:30 a.m. for the campers. Participants are required to bring their own equipment, such as cleats, bats, gloves, pants, sliding shorts and tennis shoes. Campers may also want to bring extra money to buy concessions that will be sold each day during breaks.

The cost for this year’s camp is $50. Registration forms can be picked up at the high school, and mailed to:
