Delphine Ball Blevins, age 74, of Crumpler, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Blevins was born October 29, 1933 in Lansing, to the late Edgar and Juanita Howell Ball. She retired from Sara Lee Knit Products where she worked as an inspector. She was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church in Crumpler. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and gardening.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jack Pugh. The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to Segraves Care Center, 200 Hospital Avenue, Jefferson, NC 28640.

Mrs. Blevins is survived by: her husband, Ralph Blevins; two sons, Ralph Edward Blevins of Brookwood, Ala., and Jimmy D. Blevins of Crumpler; three sisters, Jacqueline Emerson of Avondale, Penn., Charlsie Dolinger of Marion, Va., and Barbara Farr of Newark, Del.; two brothers, Gerald Ball and David Ball, both of Grassy Creek. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
