High Country Hospice is busy preparing for the Annual Flea Market. The goals for this event include raising funds to support Hospice patient services and raising awareness and understanding of the needs of people living with a life-limiting illness and their families. To make the event a great success, volunteers to help organize the merchandise and donations of items in good condition are needed.

“We are in need of items such as furniture, appliances, electronics, tools, exercise equipment, house wares, etc.,” said Jennifer Richardson, volunteer coordinator for High Country Hospice in Ashe and Alleghany Counties. “We have gotten a good response with people dropping off items so far.”

Conley and Wilma Shepherd are donating a storage unit at the intersection of 163 and 221 to High Country Hospice to store the donated items in from August 17 - 27. To schedule a time to drop off items at the storage unit, please contact Jennifer Richardson at 336-246-6443. Donations will still be accepted at the High Country Hospice office until August 27th also.
