On Wednesday, the freshman team knocked off Carroll County (Va.) 38-25 to score its second victory of the season. Alex Spencer and Parker Shelton led the way with nine points while Kaleb Sexton added eight points in the victory.
The JV boys team moved to 9-1 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference and bounced back from its first conference loss of the season at Wilkes Central, beating Starmount 53-43 on Friday.
Ashe led 8-5 after the first quarter and never looked back. Cullen Ashley led the way with 22 points followed by Jonathan Cox with 12 points and Alex Laws with six points.
The JV girls were not in action last week since Starmount does not have a JV girls squad.
