The 2012 volleyball season came to a close on Tuesday with the final home game for a pair of seniors.

Aspen Domske and Destiny Shepherd played in their last home game against the Forbush Falcons, who entered play with a 7-8 record in the conference.

Ashe battled hard in all three games, but Forbush held on to take the 3-0 victory. Game one went to the Lady Falcons, 25-17. The Lady Huskies bounced back to make game two much closer, falling 25-22. In the third game, Ashe rallied from 10 points back by scoring eight straight to make the score 24-22, but the visiting team got the last point to put an end to Ashe’s season.

Last Thursday, the Lady Huskies traveled to Wilkes Central, but were defeated three games to one. Central took game one, 25-14 and game two, 25-21. Ashe captured game three by a score of 25-22 before losing a close one in the final game, 25-23.

The Lady Huskies finished the year with a 1-18 overall record and 1-15 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.
