Millers Creek man faces multi-county B & E charges

A Millers Creek man who is facing felony breaking and entering and larceny charges in Ashe County is also facing similar charges in Watauga County.

According to the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Rockie Joe Huffman of 657 Green Acres Road, Millers Creek, was arrested on Sept. 23 for felony breaking and entering of a trailer and larceny He is alleged to have stolen tools from a trailer at 157 Murray Drive in Boone on July 12.

Huffman is currently incarcerated in Wilkes County on other charges and was brought before the Wilkes County Magistrate for the Watauga County charges, Captain Jaska Rominger of the WCSO said. Huffman was given a $7,500 secured bond for those charges and extradited back to Wilkes County. Huffman’s total bond is $313,350 secured and is awaiting an Oct. 22 court date in Watauga County.

Huffman is scheduled to appear in Ashe County District Court on Thursday, Oct. 8 where he will face two counts of felony breaking and entering, one count of felony larceny, and one count of felony larceny after breaking and entering.
