Mr. Arvel Lyalls of Mountain City, Tenn., formerly of Ashe County, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at his home. He was 82.
James Arvel Lyalls was born on Aug. 29, 1930, in Ashe County to the late Ambrose and Leah Miller Lyalls.
Mr. Lyalls is survived by his wife, Gwendoline Cable Lyalls of Mountain City, Tenn.; a son, Kenneth Lyalls of Jefferson; a step son James Nelson and wife Maureen of Washington, D.C.; two step-daughters, Jennifer Witherspoon of Fleetwood, Julie Nelson Miller and husband Chris of Fleetwood; a brother, Burl Lyalls of Crumpler; a sister, Opal Ballou of Jefferson; and granddaughter, Bailey Witherspoon of Fleetwood.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Boone Family Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Boone Family Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
