Roger Staley

Mr. Roger Lee Staley of Roaring River died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. He was 58.

Mr. Staley was born Oct. 6, 1953 in Wilkes County to Bon Lee and Bonnie Shew Staley. He worked at Tyson Feed Mill as lead maintenance man over maintenance.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Diane Staley of the home; one son, Adam Nicholas Staley and wife, Julie, of Columbus, Md.; two step-sons, John Shane Severt and Derek Jerome Severt, both of Millers Creek; his parents, Bon Lee and Bonnie Shew Staley of Roaring River; three brothers, Edward Staley and wife, Janet, of Wilkesboro, Jerry Dean Staley, Alvin Staley and wife, Ann, all of Roaring River; and two step-grandchildren, Sadie Mae Severt and Tyler Steven Severt, both of Millers Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Gene Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in The Woodie Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
