No matter what age you are, playing your favorite sport is always something that you love to do.

For the members of the High Country Senior Men’s Golf Association, it just so happens that playing golf on courses throughout the area is something that they have no plans on giving up anytime soon.

This is the first year that the league has been in existence, and so far, the turnout has been very good.

The purpose of the league is to give men age 52 and over the opportunity to play golf with their friends, while also meeting new people and getting the chances to play on different golf courses throughout the area.

One major benefit of the league is that there is no annual fee to play. Players just pay the usual course fee to play a round of golf.

Currently, four area courses participate in the senior league including Stone Mountain Golf Club, Crestview Golf Club, Skyland Lakes Golf Club and New River Golf Club. The league would like to encourage more courses to become part of the league and allow for the players to expand to new areas and get to play on new courses as well.

For those interested in joining the league, please contact the New River Golf Club by email at geotec1@earthlink.net.
