ACSO arrests six on multiple charges

The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests have been made:

John Derrick McCulloch, 33, of Millers Creek was arrested on Oct. 8 and charged with obtaining property by false pretense, and larceny and breaking and entering of two residences in West Jefferson. McCulloch was also had charges from several other counties. He is currently incarcerated on a $100,000 bond.

Vinson Blevins, 39, of West Jefferson was arrested on Oct. 24 and charged with larceny. Blevins allegedly took property from a West Jefferson resident. Blevins has been released on an unsecured bond and the property was recovered.

Jason Thomas Johnson, 35, of West Jefferson was arrested on Oct. 26 and charged with misdemeanor larceny. Johnson allegedly stole a yellow gold wedding ring from a residence in Crumpler. Johnson was released on an unsecured bond, and also had other outstanding warrants for felony obtaining property by false pretense.

Israel Boone Church, 34, of Lansing was arrested on Oct. 28 and charged with six counts of obtaining property by false pretense for receiving money with which to buy building materials to perform contracted work which never occurred. Church was bonded out of jail on a $15,000 bond. Church is also facing charges in Watauga County.

Rebecca Sawyer, 29, of West Jefferson was arrested on Oct. 31 and charged with misdemeanor larceny. She is charged with taking a white gold wedding ring set from a residence in Crumpler. Sawyer was released on an unsecured bond.

Todd Justin Morrin, 38, of Creston was arrested on Oct. 31 and charged with breaking and entering and larceny after an incident occurred at a residence in Creston. Morrin is currently being held on a $5,000 bond.

Arrest warrants have also been issued for Anthony Dustin Graybeal, 23, of West Jefferson and Randy Brian Shelton, 36, of West Jefferson. Graybeal is being wanted for breaking, entering and larceny of a residence in Crumpler. Shelton is currently on the run from law enforcement.
