The winning streak jumped to 13 in a row after the Huskies beat 4A team Alexander Central 7-1 last week. On Sunday, the latest 2A soccer poll was released, and the Huskies jumped up to fourth in the state after impressive victories over Forbush, Wilkes Central and most recently the Cougars from Alexander Central.

In that game, Frank Ledezma netted three goals to score the hat trick while Cesar Ruiz added two goals, Jamie Weaver had one and Austin Bennett capped off the scoring with a goal.

Currently, the Huskies hold a 13-1 record overall and are 7-0 in conference play with seven conference games left and a non-conference matchup with North Surry remaining on the schedule as of press time Wednesday. Ashe was scheduled to travel to Starmount on Wednesday night and host Elkin on Thursday after both games were moved around due to rain postponements.
