A new commercial real estate development is underway in West Jefferson, as Quality Oil Company LLC plans a Quality Plus filling station and convenience store near the U.S. 221 N.C. 163 intersection.
Daniel Dinsbeer, Quality Oil’s head of real estate development, said the company just purchased a one-acre parcel near CVS pharmacy where a Quality Plus store is planned.
Another adjacent parcel of approximately one-acre will be purchased by the end of the year. This space will be sold for development, most likely for national franchise retail space, said Dinsbeer.
A corner of the parcel will have to be graded, he said, and a petition to redirect traffic as needed has already been submitted.
The project should break ground in March or April next year, and be completed sometime in the summer. “It’s kinda early in the process,” Dinsbeer said.
Headquartered in Winston-Salem, Quality Oil has also recently opened stores in Angier, Enka and Bat Cave.
The stores follow a unique business model. According to the company’s Website: “Husband and wife teams usually work together to ensure the success of each Quality Plus. They live in the furnished apartment attached to the Quality Plus, and care for the property and customers while belonging to the communities they serve.”
