The operator of an Ashe County taxi service was arrested Saturday on charges he allegedly sexually assaulted a female fare, according to the Ashe County Sheriff's Office.
According to a press release issued by ACSO, Ronnie Miller, 57, was arrested on Sept. 15, and charged with second-degree rape.
In the release, emailed Monday, the ACSO said Miller, also known as "Bubba," is the owner/operator of Bubba's Taxi Service in West Jefferson.
Miller is being held on a $200,000 secured bond and awaiting his first court appearance, scheduled for Sept. 20.
Additional details about the assault were not released by the sheriff's office.
However, according to the press release, an investigation into the alleged sexual assault is continuing.
