AEV was celebrated as the largest organization of ambulance dealers in the United States at the National Dealer organization conference held at Jefferson Landing on May 7 and 8.
“The AEV dealer group is the largest organization of ambulance dealers in the US,” said Mark Van Arnam, CEO of AEV.
“Our dealer network is responsible for selling approximately one out of every five ambulances delivered annually in the U.S. This partnership brings the financial impact of over $90 million in vehicle production to AEV and Ashe County every year.”
In addition to educational sessions and training, the group had the ability to view a prototype of the new Ford Transit van, which is scheduled to completely replace the Ford Econoline in mid-2014. This Ford experimental prototype is valued at over $500,000.
The group was also treated to an exciting presentation by Col. Martha McSally, USAF. Martha is the first female fighter pilot in history to fly in combat, and is also the first woman to command a US fighter squadron.
“Despite difficult times for both our public sector and private sector customers, our dealer group has been vital in keeping our production lines running,” said Van Arnam.
The award for the Top Export Dealer went to Bertonati Vehiculos Especiales of Chile, while the Top Overall Dealer honors went to Northwestern Emergency Vehicles of Jefferson. Van Arnam said that NWEV has consistently been AEV’s largest dealer since AEV was founded in 1990.
