The Ashe County Dinner Theater will present Conway Twitty, Tim McGraw and Hank Williams Jr. impersonators at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

Impersonator Travis James will play both Conway Twitty and Hank Williams Jr. during Saturday’s show.

James has been playing live since his early teens.

The Calumet High School grad cut his teeth in the entertainment industry with his High School Band ‘The Little Youngers,’ his popularity skyrocketed at Calumet, when his band played in the Theatre for the student body. The band soon became a country band called Silver Wings.

James eventually became a top Elvis Presley impersonator, and the high demand for his performances was evident when he began touring Japan as Presley. Playing bars at night and going to school in the daytime was how it was back then.

Fast forward many years when James visited Memories Theatre. It was then he was told he looked like a young Conway Twitty. He has been playing as Twitty for the last eight years now in the World Famous Memories Theater.

Never satisfied with anything but perfection, James also performs as Hank Williams Jr. and Neil Diamond.

Todd Sullivan will also be performing as Tim McGraw during Saturday’s show.

Sullivan got the idea to start a Tim McGraw tribute eight years ago, after hearing several strangers tell him he looked like Tim McGraw. He started his career performing at local bars along with music festivals and nearly a decade later, Todd has made appearances in many movies and commercials, not only as McGraw, but as himself as well. Sullivan has performed over a 1,000 shows nationwide.

Sullivan has twice been featured in Country Weekly Magazine, appeared on the TNN Country Music Awards with Jeff Foxworthy, and has been spotlighted in countless radio shows and newspapers.

Sullivan’s spot-on impersonation of Tim McGraw has been performed at casinos and theatres throughout the country; however, Todd says his biggest accomplishment to date would have to be his performance at “The Grand ‘Ole Opry”.

Sullivan’s tribute shows have been known to surprise fans with performances many don’t expect from a tribute artist.

The Blue Ridge Dinner Theater offers both entertainment and a buffet as part of their shows. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children if pre-ordered, and $35 for adults and $17.50 for children at the door. Blue Ridge Dinner Theater is located at 9331 N.C. 16, West Jefferson.

"Unfair competition" in N.C. car market

An N.C. Senate bill would prohibit direct marketing to N.C. motorists by Tesla and companies like it. Is this a sound policy?
