Ashe County’s new Director of Planning, Adam Stumb, will bring a caring perspective with him as he begin his duties on Dec. 17.
“I want see our directors care about the community. I don’t want it to be just a job to them, and I feel that Adam shows real caring about Ashe County. He has a great personality and good experience. He brings with him a number of qualities that will serve the residents of Ashe,” said Ashe County Manager Dr. Pat Mitchell.
Stumb said he is “pretty excited” about the move to Ashe County. “I’ve got family in Watauga so it will be good to be in that area again,” said Stumb.
Stumb has been with the Town of Trinity since 2003, a community in Randolph County, where he served as the Planning Director. Stumb has experience with ordinance and code administration, code enforcement, grant management and plat and subdivision review documents.
He holds a bachelor’s’s degree in geography and planning from UNC-Greensboro, and has attended multiple courses in planning and management at the UNC School of Government. He and his wife attended high school in Watauga County.
“The county looks forward to having Adam as our new Director of Planning,” said Mitchell.
